FAQ – questions about genetics and related



ORDERING & SHIPPING

It is easy and convenient to order our DNA tests. We have compiled an easy-to-follow guide, which you can follow here >How to order our DNA tests<

Remember that our DNA tests are ‘all inclusive’, and you do not pay any extra for freight.

All of our DNA tests are based on saliva, and performed by mouth swab. Therefore, the tests are 100% painless and non-invasive. The test is very easy to perform. You can see our detailed illustration here >How to perform the DNA saliva test<

No, our prices are ‘all inclusive’, meaning that the freight to you and the sample return freight are prepaid by us. We have no hidden extra costs.
When you are looking up each individual test, you will find a description to help you decide which test is recommended. Some DNA tests are even designed for children and babies. Be aware that if the tested person is under 18 years old, the test has to be purchased and performed by an adult who has a legal responsibility of the child.

Test reports will be supplied in English.

This is a very good idea and many of our clients do this. You will receive a test kit for each test ordered, and you will have to perform each test separately. This is for your security, but also makes it possible for you to do one test at the time.
Yes, you can buy as many DNA tests as you like. As every test will be in an individual test kit box, you can give them away as gifts, for family, or whomever you prefer. As there is a 60-day time window from you receiving the test kit to the test needing to be returned, this should allow enough time for everyone.
At the moment, we sadly cannot offer an express service. The realistic time at the moment is between 14 and 20 days from the day we receive the test sample at our laboratory. However, we expect to offer an express service in the near future.
We send your test kit within 24 hours on weekdays only. Usually, it will arrive within 2-5 business days. You will also receive a tracking number when we send your test.
Yes, you have 30 days to change your mind.

You have 60 days to return the DNA test to us. As you have the prepaid return envelope, returning the test to us is easy. Just post it in your local mailbox.

YOUR TEST REPORT

You can print or download the report directly from your personal login area. We do not provide shipping of printed reports for your privacy.

You will have access to your personal DNA report online, through your personal and secure login area, where you can chose to read, download, or print the report. The report will stay online for 120 days (to abide by EU Data protection law), but we will notify you 14 days prior to your report being removed.

Note: after the report is deleted from our servers, you will not be able to recover the report.

From the day we receive the saliva test back at our laboratory, the turnaround time is a maximum of 20 days, but often much faster.
When the test is finished, you will receive an e-mail from us with a link directly to your login area, which you created when registering for your test.
At the moment, we supply the test report in English only, but we are due to support more languages in the near future.
No, not directly. Our DNA tests are developed in the direction of ‘improving your life’, and we look, therefore, for areas that can increase quality of your life, in the form of genetic knowledge, precisely for your body. It may be that we are looking at some genetic markers that tell us about a greater risk of certain diseases. If we see this, we will, of course, include this in your report, and ask that you seek extra advice from your doctor.
We cannot answer questions regarding your private test report, as these reports are 100% confidential and staff at New Life Genetics do not have access to view them. However, all text in the test reports are written in an easy-to-understand language, so you will not find it difficult to interpret the information you receive.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

We are sorry, but you cannot recover a deleted report. If you delete your report, there will be no opportunity for you to recover it. This action is irreversible. However, before you opt to delete the report, you will be asked if you are sure before continuing with this action.
We encourage you to download the report immediately after we send you a personal link to your report.
Your test is on a safe and secure server, using SSL encrypted access, as well as the fact that your DNA test report is only accessible via your own, personal password. You also have the ability to be anonymous when you register your DNA test, so no one will know whom your test belongs to.
Yes, you can choose to either register your DNA test with your own name, or with an alias.
Your DNA sample will be destroyed immediately after the laboratory has drawn the necessary genetic material.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

You can still register the test key if you have kept the test kit box. The registration key can be found outside of the box, and you must use this key within a maximum of 14 days from the day you returned the saliva test swabs. If this is not possible, we will provide you with a new test kit. Simply contact our support team to request this.
